What is a Closing Interview / Professional Discussion?

Modified on Fri, 13 Feb at 9:24 AM

When learners undertake an OBE assessment, NEBOSH uses closing interviews / professional discussions to help establish that the work submitted is your own and that there has been no malpractice in the conduct of the assessment.

Closing interviews / professional discussions are arranged and conducted by your Learning Partner and must be conducted in the language of the assessment.

During the closing interview / professional discussion you will be asked to produce your photographic ID to verify your identity.

You will then be asked specific questions about your OBE assessment. This is to establish that you wrote the assessment yourself. Before answering these questions, you will be asked to scan the room with your laptop camera. This is to prove that you are undertaking the interview alone in the room and do not have any notes/resources that you may refer to.

The closing interview / professional discussion is not a marked assessment. You will not be awarded a 'pass' or 'refer' grade.
