How to avoid fraudulent use of your NEBOSH Certificate?

Modified on Fri, 13 Feb at 8:52 AM

NEBOSH takes all instances of fraudulent certificates very seriously.

In cases where we are informed of a certificates and/or parchments being used fraudulently, we make every effort to identify and alert the authentic holder.

Each unit certificate and parchment has a number of anti-forgery and anti-fraud features, including a unique identifying number that enables NEBOSH to check to whom it was issued.

Most fraudulently used certificates have been made available online – for example they are posted on LinkedIn by the genuine holder. NEBOSH strongly advises against posting certificates or Unit Result Notification Letters online, or making reference to any identifying numbers relating to your NEBOSH studies such as your learner number or certificate reference number.

For all certificates issued after 1 September 2024, the master log number is now printed on the back of the certificate. This update has been done as a security measure to protect the master log numbers if learners wish to post their certificates online.

Please be advised any reports on Fraudulent activity including Fraudulent Certificates should be reported directly to NEBOSH by completing the 'Report Fraudulent Certificate/Activity' Form.
